Stevens
Hypalon® is a chlorosulfonated polyethylene (CSPE)-based synthetic rubber
developed by DuPont in the early 1950's. There are various Hypalon®
elastomer types which are utilized in coatings, industrial cable,
inflatable recreational crafts, single-ply roofing and geomembranes.
Hypalon-45, the grade used in Stevens Hypalon® Geomembranes, was introduced
in the early 1960's and has been widely used in the geosynthetic industry
as liners, caps and floating covers.

Stevens
Hypalon® chlorosulfonated polyethylene is manufactured by a proprietary process in which two layers of
CSPE compound are calendered to fully encapsulate a polyester
reinforcing scrim. Hypalon®
Geomembranes exhibit thermoplastic qualities during processing and field
installation, which permits seaming by chemical or thermal fusion methods.
As the membrane is exposed to UV, weather and the elements, it slowly
cures into a vulcanized membrane, exhibiting a higher tensile strength.

ISO-9000
In addition, all
Stevens Hypalon Geomembranes are manufactured in an ISO-9001-2000
registered facility. |
